A great day of competition started in the morning with Phoebe and Nina performing a fantastic routine to win the GOLD medal
in the toughly fought level 1 women's pairs. James and Abi were next to perform in the level 1 mixed pairs. It was James's
first competition and he performed like he had been competing for ages! Both looked great on the floor and won the GOLD medal.
Next we had Will and Beth who won GOLD, their lack of practise was evident but they did well to even compete considering
they have both been battling illness recently. Laura and Aysha and Illanah and Emma competed in the level 2 women's pairs
competition. Laura and Aysha performed confidently to win the SILVER medal whilst Illanah and Emma did a good routine to
win the BRONZE. Vicky, Natalie and Bethany won GOLD after performing a great routine in the level 1 women's group competition.
Fran, Sophie and Emerald won GOLD with the highest score of the day in the level 2 women's group competition. Once again
this trio did well to compete as they have had very little training time due to illness.
Our level 3 and 4 partnerships of Rebecca and Freya, Katy, Katy and Izzy and Nicole, Gabrielle and Danielle performed two
routines during the day. Starting with balance in the morning all 3 partnerships were confident and performed good clean
routines. Rebecca and Freya did a stunning routine to score 27.00. All partnerships were less confident with their afternoon
dynamic routines-their tumbles causing the most concern! Rebecca and Freya completed their complicated routine without any
major problems and won GOLD. Katy and Nicole's trio were less fortunate and incurred major deductions for falls on their
tumbles! Despite this Nicole's trio won GOLD and Katy's trio won SILVER.
A very good day indeed!!
British Tournament Nov 2008
With their first performance at a national competition Becky and Megan finished in 4th place even with the worst possible
build up to a competition due to illness! They performed well, despite obvious nerves but they have still got a lot more
Cath, Rosie and Emily performed for the first time together as a trio; only one routine, but they were placed 3rd which
promises good things for the future.
Well Done to both partnerships as it has not been the easiest build up to competition for either group!

Becky and Megan (11-16 women's pair) and Steph, Laura and Hannah (junior women's group) each competed for the first time in
their new level of competition. They each had to perform two routines; a dynamic and a balance.
Despite the nerves, Becky and Megan performed 2 clean routines and gained some of the highest scores of the day. Steph,
Laura and Hannah successfully performed their new high level skills, only faltering on their final move in the dynamic routine.
However, its a good lesson to learn-not to relax until it is all over!

This was our first time at this event and we were not sure what to expect. However it was a fantastic weekend and a really
friendly and well organised event. It was a team event with the top 5 scores from day 1 and the top 5 scores from day 2 added
together to give the overall team totals.
On day one, our NDP team were competing. It was a fantastic day with all our
partnerships performing clean routines to put the team in first place-we think quite a long way ahead of the other clubs(results
to come). A special mention needs to go to Rebecca and Freya who won the trophy for the highest score of the day with their
On day two the FIG gymnasts were in action. This was always going to be a challenging day as they were
up against some of GB's most talented 11-16 and Junior gymnasts. However, all our gymnasts performed excellently

It was a very long but rewarding weekend for the 7 partnerships (and their parents!) who were selected to represent the SOUTH
Region at the NDP National final in Stoke-on-Trent. All of them won medals; making OXFORD the most successful acro club in
On Saturday the partnership of Cath, Rosie and Megan were competing in the WG (womens groups)grade 3 event. They won
the GOLD medal easily leaving the others way behind. They performed 2 routines and the scores from both were added together
to give the overall result.
We also saw Nicole, Katy and Danielle compete in the WG grade 2 competition on the Saturday. They too won GOLD performing
their routine with confidence.
Gabrielle and Cosette also competed on Saturday in the WP (womens pairs) grade 2 event. They really rose to the occassion
and gave their best ever performance to win a SILVER medal.
On day 2 Sophie, Illanah and Emerald and Maisie, Fran and Emily all competed in the WG grade 1 competition. Sophie, Illanah
and Emerald performed with confidence to win the BRONZE medal. Maisie, Fran and Emily won the GOLD in the same event after
giving an almost faultless performance.
Rebecca and Freya competed in the WP grade 1 competition and won GOLD. This was probably the toughest event of the whole
weekend and Rebecca and Freya had a battle on their hands! However, no other partnership could match them technically so
in the end they won by 0.4!
After having to sit and watch everyone else win medals the tension was mounting for Will and Izzy who had to perform in
the last round of the day. After a long day they both performed their best ever routine to win the SILVER medal.
All the gymnasts rose to the occassion and did the Club and themselves proud. We could not have even predicted this result
in our wildest dreams! Well Done to you all.

Our PREP A team all returned home with medals after they gave stunning performances. Patrick and Emma have made great progress
since their last comp and looked so much more confident out on the floor. Their GOLD medal was well deserved and won them
the title of South of England Mixed Pair Champions. Nina and Phoebe won the SILVER medal in the Women's Pairs section after
a beautiful performance; a time fault on their last balance cost them the gold, never mind girls!! Melissa and Abi performed
confidently and with some real style and charisma to claim the BRONZE medal in the same category.
The top 3 scores from the 3 competing regions were added together to give the regional winners-this went to us, the SOUTH.
Well Done to you all!

This British Championships saw Jo, Amber and Abi (European silver medalists at 11-16) make the difficult transition to junior
level work. They were competing against some really experienced gymnasts but rose to the occasion and won the BRONZE medal.
They competed a stunning balance routine, finishing in 1st position after their main rivals faltered. In their dynamic routine
they performed a clean routine which left them in 3rd place. In the finals (the scores go back to zero) they narrowly missed
out on the silver as they received a 0.3 time fault on one of their balances! Their routines were definately watched closely
by coaches and judges alike-they have now proved to everyone that the transition from 'Age Group' to 'Junior' is possible.
The 11-16 WG section saw the toughest competition over the whole weekend-but we were rewarded with some truly outstanding
performances from many gymnasts. Our two trios in their first British Championships performed excellent routines to finish
4th and 6th overall-these placings really don't say how amazing they looked. The top 8 placings could have pretty much gone
in any order; thats how close it was! Cath, Rosie and Megan had a tough draw-3rd to compete out of 23, but they still made
it through to the final and looked beautiful finishing in 6th place. Steph, Laura and Hannah let their nerves get to them
in qualifications but managed to hold it together in the final to give a powerful performance to finish in 4th place.
Well Done to you all!

We had over 30 gymnasts competing at this national qualification event.
The morning competition was for the PREP gymnasts who were all competing for the first time. The half term training programme
definitely paid off with all gymnasts winning medals!
Phoebe and Nina performed a fantastic routine to win a GOLD medal in the PREP A women's pairs event. Melissa and Abi
also performed a great routine in this level to win the BRONZE.
In the PREP A mixed pairs event Patrick and Emma performed confidently to win the SILVER medal.
At the harder level of PREP B Izzy and Beth performed a very good routine to win a BRONZE medal.
All these gymnasts have now gained a place in the Regional team for the South of England Championships to be held on 11th
May. Well Done!
In the afternoon sessions we had the NDP gymnasts competing for a place in the National finals, which will take place in Stoke
Rebecca and Freya performed a lovely routine at NDP 1 women's pairs to finish with a SILVER medal. Laura and Aysha did
a great routine to finish in BRONZE just .05 behind. Will and Izzy were competing in the NDP 1 mixed pairs competition and
won the GOLD medal by a convincing margin. At NDP 1 women's trios Maisie, Fran and Emily held their composure to win the
GOLD medal, Sophie, Illanah, and Emerald(Emerald in her first competition) were only just behind to win the SILVER medal.
Vicky, Natalie and Bethany (in her first competition) came a fantastic 5th.
In the NDP 2 women's pairs Megan and Sophie won the GOLD Medal with Gabby and Cosette giving a lovely performance to win
the SILVER. In the NDP 2 women's trio event Nicole, Katie and Danielle finally won the GOLD medal they deserved after managing
to beat their injuries(!)
In the NDP 3 women's groups competition Cath, Rosie and Megan finished in GOLD medal position after performing 2 stunning

Rosie and Chris performed 3 stunning routines to win GOLD in the 11-16 Mixed Pairs category. They also scored the equal highest
score of the day making them joint overall 11-16 winners. Well done you two!
The first competition of our new partnership combinations in the 11-16 Women's Group category did not disappoint. All
3 11-16 WG performed excellently to qualify for the finals. It was going to be a tough competition between our girls for
the medal places as they are all so equally matched. In the end Cath, Rosie and Megan won SILVER, Steph, Laura, Hannah won
BRONZE and Katie, Becky and Ellie finished 5th due to a mistake in the finals which immediately cost them any chance of a
This competition saw Jo, Amber and Abi make the step up to junior level work. They performed with their usual style and
elegance and produced 3 clean routines to finish with the BRONZE medal.
